The Artistic Rebuttal Book Project began in January 2011, on the day that Amy Scheidegger overheard a group of teens on the Philadelphia Market/Frankford Line talking about how useless an art degree is. Angered by their ignorance of the value of an arts education, she contacted everyone she knew to submit art and stories telling her why they make art. So far the project has received a total of 275 rebuttals from 22 of our 50 states. (via Submit your Rebuttal to the Artistic Rebuttal Book Project | Philaculture.org)
